The idea of starting a Humanaut cycling team came to us at approximately 3:06 AM on February 2nd, 2008. We felt that very few riders in the area focused on the same unorganized and reckless behavior as us, yet, actually had any sort of motivation to train and compete. We realized it would be down right rude to not offer an outlet for this sort of thing. So we got semi-organized, registered the team with the USCF, had jerseys made and then proceeded to start recruiting riders.

The Humanaut Cycling Team has no real focus or agenda. To put it simply, we are just a bunch of young dudes who like riding/racing bikes. We could write a nice “About” section like most teams and include a detailed outline of the team and what we hope to achieve. But why bullshit and act like something you’re not (a pro team)? The only thing that we can guarantee is that we will continue to ride/race and that the website will remain updated with news and other ramblings.

However, if we were to actually state any sort of objective for the 2008 season it would be that we plan on building a top Cat 3/4 team. This team will consists of angry (yet gnarly) riders who will either be pissed off because a) they are hungover (yes, they will be of legal drinking age!) or b) they were listening to excessively evil techno/metal prior to the race and this has resulted in unexplained rage.

As of right now we are currently still recruiting riders for the 2008 season. We don’t believe in “roster cut-offs”. If you’re cool and you like racing then you can join us at any point in time throughout the year. We currently have several riders who are “trying out” (?). Those jerseys are expensive! We want to see a commitment before we give you one.
